Clarice Jensen, 96, of Blackduck, died June 5, 2005 at Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck.
She was born on the family homestead in Taylor Township October 20, 1908 to Clifford Alton and Rachel Alzora (Olmstead) Matheny.
She attended school at the White Pine Country School. She married James Harry Jensen October 20, 1931 in Hines. She resided in the Blackduck area all her life. She was active in 4-H for many years, was the Birch Township clerk for several years and was a member of the Garden Club and Birthday Club.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, and making clothes for her grandchildren. She had been a resident of Northern Pines Center since August of 1995.
She is survived by a son, David (Mary) Jensen of Blackduck; a daughter, Shirley (Charles) Thomas of Bemidji; eight grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James in 1980; five brothers, Ronald, Keith, Kenneth, Bruce, and Ralph; and three sisters, Lois Lindsey, Veda Swarthout, and Vera Brownlee.
